Križevac (Cross Mountain)

Where the Cross stands above all

Visible from nearly every corner of Medjugorje, Križevac is more than a mountain. It is a sacred path of suffering, offering, and surrender.

In 1934, the people of Medjugorje built a large concrete cross on its summit to commemorate 1900 years since the Crucifixion of Jesus. Today, pilgrims from all over the world climb this rocky hill, praying the Way of the Cross on their way up.

It’s not just a physical ascent — it’s a spiritual pilgrimage.
