🕊️ What Is Medjugorje?

Medjugorje is a small village in Bosnia and Herzegovina where, since 1981, six visionaries have reported apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary. She calls herself the Queen of Peace and offers a message of prayer, fasting, reconciliation, and peace.

Pilgrims come here from every corner of the world seeking closeness with God, healing of the heart, and renewal of faith.


🗺️ Where to Begin

St. James Church

The heart of Medjugorje. This is where the daily prayer program is held, including evening Mass, Adoration, and confessions. Start your pilgrimage here.

⛰️ Apparition Hill (Podbrdo)

Climb early in the morning or at sunset to pray the Rosary at the site of the first apparitions.

✝️ Cross Mountain (Križevac)

A powerful uphill Way of the Cross. Be sure to bring water and good shoes.


🧭 How to Get Around

  • Everything in Medjugorje is within walking distance: church, hills, hotels, and key sites.
  • Taxis are available for older or less mobile pilgrims.
  • Ask your host or hotel about shuttle options if needed.

🕖 Morning: Quiet prayer, Mass in various languages
🕔 Afternoon: Confessions, quiet time, hill visits
🕖 Evening: Rosary, Holy Mass, Adoration or veneration of the Cross
