On this day in 1981, the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to six young people for the first time on Apparition Hill. Each year, the anniversary is marked with:

Medjugorje celebrates all major feasts of the Virgin Mary with particular devotion. These include:

  • August 15 – Assumption of Mary
  • December 8 – Immaculate Conception
  • March 25 – Annunciation
  • September 8 – Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Each feast includes specially themed homilies, prayers, and processions. These are excellent days to visit Apparition Hill or pray the rosary in community.
